LUKASHENKA GRATEFUL TO RUSSIAN INTELLIGENCE.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 4 Issue: 57

Belarusan President Alyaksandr Lukashenka yesterday expressed gratitude to Russia’s Federal Intelligence Service (FSB) for informing him about "unfavorable developments in Poland and Lithuania." Specifically, Russian intelligence kept him informed about "subversive activities against Belarus" by Western intelligence services and by the Belarusan opposition using those two countries’ territory. Poland and Lithuania "actively cooperate" in such subversion, Lukashenka charged. He claimed to possess evidence handed over to him by "our FSB friends." (Russian agencies, March 23)
